BLAZE®-treated couplings are achieving breakthrough performance in key oil and gas producing regions. BLAZE is allowing operators to minimize tubing wear from friction, extend the time between replacement, reduce production losses due to downtime, and lower equipment and repair costs.

Up to 3x More Run Life than Conventional Sucker Rod Coupling Solutions
In a severely deviated well in the Bakken, BLAZE couplings, in conjunction with Endurance fiberglass sucker rods, ran 3x longer than steel couplings, achieving 317 days of run time at a pump set depth of 9383 feet. Learn more in our field report

Zero Failures Due to Tubing Wear from Couplings
A large oil and gas producer in the Permian faced a challenging situation due to high-sand production and corrosion of downhole components. In conjunction with Endurance fiberglass suck rods, Blaze treated couplings were used to reduce coupling-on-tubing friction throughout highly deviated wellbores, resulting in zero failures from tubing wear over a two-year period. BLAZE® Explained
BLAZE® is a Thermal Boron Diffusion Process that uses a proprietary chemical formula to produce a slick, hard, intermetallic Boride layer within metal surfaces. BLAZE treated parts offer lower coefficient of friction than untreated metal parts. BLAZE treated surfaces resist mechanical wear, corrosion, and abrasion – outperforming chrome, nickel carbides, and other alternatives.

Not a Coating or Plating
Unlike conventional treatments used on artificial lift components, BLAZE is not a coating or plating. BLAZE creates an intermetallic layer that cannot peel or crack and does not alter the dimensions of the part. BLAZE treatment is available on pumps, plungers, trim kits, valves, guides, couplings, and other components, helping operators achieve new artificial lift endurance benchmarks.
